Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane is a colorless, transparent or milky white liquid with flammability and no odor. It is a compound obtained by the hydrolysis synthesis process of dimethyl dichlorosilane, followed by separation and distillation. It is an important intermediate in the organic silicon industry, mainly used for the preparation of organic silicon polymers such as methyl silicone oil. In addition, it is also used for insulation and moisture-proof of radio components, as well as surface deactivation agents for gas chromatography glass capillary columns.
